They say you can judge how sexy a country is by the number of hot models it produces. Well, okay, no one really says that, but I believe it to be true. The ladies represented here are either models or celebs that have done their fair share of modeling (as evidenced by the links attached to some of their photos and names). This list is by no means comprehensive (though it is rather staggering) because as I have found out there is somewhere in the neighborhood of around 7,439 professional (and semi-professional) models in the world and 98% of them are really, really good-looking.
You can argue with the rankings all you want (and no doubt will, just be nice), but one thing you absolutely cannot argue with is the fact that all of these countries produce some seriously bodacious women. And not to brag, but if you ended up considering this list of OVER 400 OF THE SEXIEST WOMEN IN THE WORLD your pseudo-bible of babes I would to-tally understand.
Some countries made their way on to this list based on the sheer volume of sexy women they possess. Some countries are on here for the quality of the heavenly ladies who call them home (aka “supermodels”). And a rare few score very high on both counts. (Bonus points for models vs. actresses.) You see, it really is all about the science. Just kidding… sort of. So, without further ado, presenting The 25 Sexiest Countries in the World.
Argentina, the second largest country in South America, has a literacy rate of 97% so the nice thing about the many beautiful women this country produces is that so while these women have tremendous beauty they’re also quite capable of carrying on an intelligent conversation. Always a plus in a supermodel, which they have been producing since Valeria Mazza was discovered at the age of 16 in 1988.
The Hellenic Republic, as Greece is also known, may be the birthplace of democracy, Western philosophy, the Olympic Games, Western literature, political science, and Western drama, but it is also the birthplace of some of the sexiest women on the planet. Which is quite staggering since the country has only around 11 million inhabitants or just over half as many people as Metro New York City.
Had the Soviet Union not broken up it might have found itself at or near the top of these rankings as the combined sex appeal of Russia, Lithuania, Belarus, and the Ukraine made it a true sexual superpower. Even so, Russia more than holds it’s own in the modeling world with one of the ultimate prizes, the 2011 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue cover, going to a model from this former communist state (Irina Shayk).
Judit Masco was the first Spanish woman to appear as the cover model for the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue back in 1990, but Spain has always been a hotbed of gorgeous women with that tradition living on as strong today as it did back then (just check out few TV shows that air in this country for proof). It must be something in the Mediterranean Sea air that helps create such beauty.
Anyone in the United States with even the slightest bit of interest in television knows that Mexican TV is filled with some of the most gorgeous women in the world (women who are not averse to posing in lingerie for the country’s several excellent men’s magazines). It’s why even though many of us don’t speak a lick of Spanish we occasionally find ourselves entranced by the weather forecast in Mexico or wondering why “Maria” is so upset with “Jorge”. Mexico also boasts having the current Miss Universe so they have that going for them as well. Which is nice.
England: Home of the best men’s magazines in the world: From Zoo to Nuts to Loaded and Front, there seems to be an unlimited supply of sexy ladies willing to pose wearing little to no clothing. And not just any women either, some of the most beautiful, most well-endowed women in the world pose weekly for these publications. It almost makes one want to move to England and take up the fine art of photography.
The land down under is like England South when it comes to the sexy women who pose for lad mags, but they also have a few more models that fall into the “super” category (you may have heard of a few of them), plus they’ve produced a winner of the Miss Universe competition in the last decade. Oh yes, there’s also that one model that pretty much took over the world in the 1990s and has been on the cover of the SI Swimsuit issue a record five times — no one else even has four (hint: her nickname is “The Body”).
Seven Miss Universe titles (plus five more from Puerto Rico) puts the United States well on top in that little competition, but the States also can take pride in knowing that it has the most “Angels” on the Victoria’s Secret roster, not to mention over 60 ladies overall since the company was founded. Oh, and there’s that whole Swimsuit Issue thing. The U.S. perfected that with legends like Cheryl Tiegs, Christie Brinkley, Carol Alt, Kathy Ireland, and Tyra Banks donning bikinis and making the issue notoriously exciting for men the world over. And we can’t forget Jill Goodacre’s contributions to the early years of the Victoria’s Secret catalog. No, we sure can’t.
Guess who is second on the list for the most current Victoria’s Secret “Angels”? Over 25 women overall have donned the legendary company’s lingerie over the years, with arguably the three top models in Victoria’s Secret history roster hailing from the largest country in South America. This should come as no surprise though because Brazil has been churning out internationally sexy ladies since Maria Joao generated the most cancellations in Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue history with her cover back in 1978 (you may have also heard of her daughter, a young lady named Jordana Brewster).
